The gender of the third Royal Baby is yet to be publicly revealed, but the British public is already keen to have its say.

According to bookies Ladbrokes, it is now a shade of odds-on that Kate Middleton and Prince William ‘s baby-to-be will be a little girl.

The overwhelming majority of punters have placed bets that the royal couple will be celebrating the birth of another daughter, forcing the odds to tumble into 10/11 and making a girl the favoured gender.

Meanwhile, the odds that Prince George and Princess Charlotte are joined by a little brother in April is at evens.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are predicted to play it safe and stick to tradition when it comes to naming Royal baby number three.

Mary is the hot favourite to be the name of choice, following an unprecedented gamble in recent weeks which saw its odds slashed into 4/1 from 20/1 in just 24 hours.

However, Alice (8/1), Victoria (8/1), Albert (12/1) and Arthur (12/1) follow close behind.

At 10/1, it seems unlikely the couple are actually expecting twins while odds are at 50/1 for royal triplets.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Royal punters are convinced Kate will soon be giving birth to a little girl, and we’ve been forced to make it the favourite gender following overwhelming support.

“Mary remains the name on everyone’s lips, however it’s an outside chance that the Duke and Duchess have been keeping it quiet that they’re actually expecting two bundles of joy.”
