The meeting was held in the Rahman Mosque in Sydney include the Imam of the mosque and President of Almabaratt association in Australia Sheikh Yusuf Nabha , the pastor in New Zealand and Australia Maronite Bishop Antoine Charbel Torbey, The representative of Dar alfatwa in Australia Sheikh Malek Zeidan, The Imam of Lakemba Mosque Ali mosque in Sydney Sheikh Yahya Safi , and Sheikh Haydar alsmiani, Labor NSW MLC The Honourable Shaoquett Moselmane , The Former Labor Deputy Mayor of Canterbury Khodr Saleh and former Liberal counsellor of Sutherland, Hassan Awada .
The meeting condemns Australian recognition of West Jerusalem as Israeli capital. And noted a risk to Australia’s image and interests, demanding and urge the Australian Government further consultation with interested communities such as fateful decisions investigation of such justice, participation and transparency .
The meeting stress that to take and seek further cooperation and dialogue with the Australian Liberal Party, in particular the relations on the Palestinian issue , the meeting also praising the decision adopted at the Labor Party Conference held in Adelaide recently to recognise State of Palestine and stressed the determination of the Prime Minister’s Scott Morrison decision on recognition of west Jerusalem as the capital of Israel if he wins the next election
