Egypt’s Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled El-Anany held talks with his British counterpart Nigel Huddleston on ways to enhance tourism cooperation between the two countries and push more tourist traffic to Egypt from the UK.
El-Anany pointed to the importance of British tourists to Egypt, which was recently removed from the UK’s travel “red list.”
He reviewed the latest developments in COVID-19 preventive measures; health and safety protocols in hotels, tourist facilities, airports, museums and archaeological sites in Egypt; and medical services provided by the state in the event that a tourist contracts the virus while in the country.
El-Anany talked about new tourism developments in Egypt, including the operation of a new airline between Sharm El-Sheikh and Luxor.
