Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reaffirmed his country’s support for “the security and stability of the sisterly Gulf states” during his meeting with his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan.
Shoukry also stressed “the close interdependence between Egyptian national security and the security of the Arab Gulf.”
Ahmed Hafez, spokesman for Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, said Shoukry stressed the “depth” of the “strategic relations between the two brotherly countries,” and the importance of enhancing economic and trade cooperation, especially in terms of attracting more Emirati investment.
Hafez added that the two ministers discussed developments in the Arab world, especially in Libya, Syria, Yemen and Sudan.
