The weather in Australia
Most states and territories across Australia will be wet today with several cold fronts sweeping the south and multiple severe wind warnings in place.
The extreme weather has returned to Western Australia’s southern regions with a strong cold front triggering gusty showers and storms in the west as well.
A series of troughs are also continuing to move past parts of South Australia, NSW, Tasmania, Victoria and Queensland’s south, generating moderate showers, storms and alpine snow.
The only part of Australia which will continue to remain dry today is the Northern Territory where temperature averages will be around 33C for much of the Top End.
Perth has experienced its wettest July in 21 years with several days of cold, damp and stormy weather wreaking havoc on multiple regions.
Clean up efforts are still underway in areas around Jurien Bay with locals cautious about the new weather system moving into the area in the coming days.
